This app is meant to enhance the gaming experience for users of Playstation 3, Playstation 4, or Xbox One who play the video game it is associated with. However, if you play the game on a PC, this app will not provide any benefits for you. You have the option to download the game map onto your device in various versions, including a low-resolution normal map (140 megabytes) or a high-definition satellite map (over 700 megabytes). Once the map is downloaded, you can use the app to explore it freely, essentially conducting reconnaissance from your own device. MGS V: The Phantom Pain serves as a useful companion app for the game it is named after, but the companion app MGS V: Ground Zeroes (also found on freedown) is considered even more advantageous.
